Phantom 631
Before I did the old hair curlers and scotch brite pad mod on my AA silencer, I thought it was quiet enough Then I and RiffRaff compared it to the custom (UKNiel) silencer to the standard AA job. The UKNiel silencer was noticably quieter so I fitted that to my AA S200 Then we did the haircurler and scouring pad Mod to the AA silencer and it greatly reduced the noise from the silencer and I put it back onto the S200 Phantom Edited December 12, 2010 by Phantom Quote Link to post

The UKNiel Silencer was a custom made one for my springer, consisted of multiple baffles and chambers, the baffles each had a number of smaller holes in them. This enabled the air to be bounced around inside the chambers instead of just blowing out of the front. Bouncing it around causes the air to slow down and thus reducing the noise of the escaping air. The AA Mod is simple to do IF you can get the end of the silencer off (cone end) as its held on with a very fine thread and lots and lots of thread lock. See the link below for details http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/141326-silencer-modifications/ I went one further and put multiple baffles and the scotchbright kitchen scourer into the AA one in the end. Si (Zini) also did a bit of a test using a sound meter and compared the Twink MKII against some of the better made silencers. The Twink Came out on top I've not had the chance to shoot using a Twink yet, but that will change shortly Personally having seen the test with the db Meter, I'd go for the Twink Phantom Quote Link to post
